It is not surprising that the loss-making arm BMJ Books has
been sold. As a result,the BMA members might want to know
whether the small discounts that the members were entitled to
when purchasing some books, would also vanish forthwith.If that
is the case--at a time when the BMA is imposing a drastic and
unjust increase in annual subscription fees--the membership is
likely to be further concerned by this latest development.
Perhaps,the earnings from this sale might be added to the
fund which generously 'compensates' some council members with
increasingly extravagant five figure sums via the Compensation
Committee.Further,the proceeds of this sale might assist in
boosting the PRP/bonuses of some high-ranking employees of the
BMA including those who are gaffe-prone.
